The Department of Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering offers two undergraduate degree programmes, namely the BEng (Mechanical) programme and the BEng (Mechatronic) programme. Both degrees can be obtained within a minimum of four years of full-time study.
As both our programmes are fully accredited by the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA), our graduates can register with ECSA as Professional Engineers after three years of applicable industrial experience. According to the Washington Accord our programmes are internationally recognised in countries like the United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, the USA, Australia, etc.
Graduates from our department’s programmes have completed Masters and Doctoral studies at leading universities worldwide.
